Help. Best Man Gifts

Hi All,

Trying to find some gifts for my best man and ushers, what a nightmare !

Budget is around £50 mark. So far looked at the usual tie, cuff links, gadget(crap). At the moment it's looking to be HMV vouchers !

Any suggestions ?

The traditional gift appears to be a hip flask - I'm building up quite a collection !

Decent pocket knives for them all. Useful rather than ornamental (WHoCT ), they'll think of you every time they slice the end of a finger off. If that's too cheap, add a mini-maglite to the knife and you have a boy's survival package.

Other than that, the nicest thing would be to make sure that the bridesmaids are very fit.

I bought my best man a 1:18 scale model of Richard Petty's NASCAR Plymouth. He loved it. Sure beats the lousy decanters I got. It helps he owned a replica Petty Roadrunner mind.

Having been best man a few times now (always the best man, never the bride.... or something), all I would add is that it would have been nice (fab though the gifts were, and are) to have had something personalised to mention the occasion and reason for gift etc. As to what though, that's another question.....

I bought my best man some Mont Blanc cufflinks. They were about £100, but there are lots of nice ones for around the £50 mark. What about something activity based? The flying school where I fly out of, offer trial microlight flights from £39.

Or perhaps a good pen? £50 buys something decent from Cross/Waterman that kind of thing.

£50 would also buy a very nice tie.
