Anyone seen 'The Machinist'

Got a very respectable 7.7 out of 10 on IMDB. Anything over 7 is usually top notch.

its a very dark film but Christian Bale is excellent, really disturbing to see him so thin though.

Dark is good I did think it looked worthwhile. Along the lines of Memento, apparently...

Not seen Memento so can't comment, but The Machinist is good, quite slow going though.

I'd like to see The Machinist, am a big fan of Mr Bale. A quality actor.

Yeah, it was fab The film was pretty good too.

Yes - for all those thinking of getting the DVD out,do it. It's maybe not quite as good as I thought it'd be, and maybe not quite as original (Fight Club/Memento-esque), but very watchable and as Mrs F said, Christian Bale is excellent. I do agree it was a little slow, but not to the point you'd lose interest.

Won't say anymore, as I don't want to spoil it!

Watched it last night and quite enjoyed it, although thought certain of the psychological twists were quite obvious.
Very painful to look at Mr Bale in the condition he was in - looked straight out of Auschwitz, which when contrasted to how he looked before in Reign of Fire and after in Batman is a truly amazing commitment to your art.

Nice dark twisted little film with a very engaging but difficult lead performance.

saw it a while back, i think its one of the best films i have seen. well shot and well acted.

27kg (the amount he lost apparantly) isn't a commitment, it's bloody madness!!!

You could tell as well, looked v fit/toned in ROF, didn't look as in good shape for Batman (also a good film BTW).
