I am full of admiration for your stand against poverty in the third world, so much so that you have the fortitude to have the courage of your convictions to actually get off your backside and head to Scotland to share your beliefs in a peaceful manner. I am humble cos whilst supporting your stand I really dont do too much to make a difference.
Hang on, is that someones business you are trashing??
Is that someones car you are wrecking??
Do you know these people? do you have a personal grudge. Do you have any idea how your actions affect normal people who probably struggled to have what they do now?
Of course you dont. Just as you probably haven't the slightest idea why you are wandering around rural Scotland other than to satisfy your own need to destroy anything you can only dream of having in your own twisted jealous mind.
You dont care that the cause you pretend to support will be lost to the mass media. Any message is gone. You will only be remembered as one of a mob of dissidents (sp) intent on mayhem.
You and your kind will only encourage the out-lawing of the right to protest.
When you return home you will no doubt be proud of your achievements.
Perhaps the owners of the property you have destroyed should bill Geldoff for inciting you. Maybe not, you after all are responsible for your own actions.
Yet again peaceful protest will be overshadowed by the pond scum which infiltrate every area of our society

I'm not sure the people you refer to are making a stand against poverty, or that they even know what they do stand for or against. A question of "what have you got?" maybe.
While there are no doubt many people who will make their views public by way of peaceful protest, they don't generally make good media material, so our TV screens get filled with the antics of a tiny minority of anarchist idiots who were it not for G8 would have found something else to be anti as they have done in the past (road building, poll tax etc.) and no doubt will continue to do so in the future.
Many people who hold views that on this forum might be described as "Lentilist" don't fall into the above camp at all, so please don't tar them with the same brush. My own views couldn't be further removed from many of them, but I thank God I live in a country where we can all make a stand no matter what our opinion without fear of a fateful knock on the door in the middle of the night.

It's interesting that the 'Wombles' and the other dedicated "anarchist" groups just jump from one event to another- and treat it as a full time job. Ergo, you and I fund them.
Lest we forget the May Day ruination of Churchill's statue in Westminster a couple of years ago and the bespoilment of the Cenotaph,
Yet , when convicted, we find these individuals are the spawn of upper middle class company directors et al.
Psychologicaly, many of them are railing against their parents- yet we bear the brunt financialy until they grow out of it. .
Fact wise- I defy anyone to differ..

Seems like these activists are always screaming about their favorite part of the problem ("it's so unfair that there are poor people" ) without considering all the other real phenomena and ramifications upon which their narrow-minded perspectives and over-simplified solutions depend for success. Namely, the very real considerations of economics, science, and justice. There is a solution, but it does not involve the terrorism of violence toward, and stealing from, the hard working.
I'm in favor of protecting the environment and doing something to break the cycle of poverty, but doing that depends on an accurate assessment of the causes and effects of human behavior, industry and science, economics and acting accordingly, without hysteria. Without taking these into consideration, they are forcing a vigilante agenda that discourages competition and fairness, and will force us into the dark ages.
I wouldn't even call myself an environmentalist if I thought it would mean that I am irrational and uninformed as are these petulant miscreants.

I've no problem with marching or peaceful protesting. In fact, I feel like a bit of my own protesting against this bastard government. However, if you're chucking rocks at the fuzz, and smashing up people's houses and cars, then you deserve to be tear gassed, clubbed or plugged.

100% agree. The true message of any demonstration is lost when it becomes a riot.
AND don't let us forget that these lazy good-for-nothing, socialist, long haired, unwashed, lice ridden, drugtaking scrotes are living at our cost and expense! Bring back the birch!!!!

Agree. I've noticed that the term lentilist (with various spellings) is used on this site as an umbrella term for anyone non-right-wing but that's hardly the same as the anarchist vandals who protest just so they can have a riot.
