Daft things you did without thinking...
Discussion
I arrived home in the car a few years ago, opened the house, walked into the kitchen and put my keys straight in the bin.
Took hours to find the bloody things.
I think that was the same year that I boiled the kettle and filled up the sugar bowl with water instead of my coffee mug.
I just stood there for a moment, desperately trying to work out what I'd done wrong.
Many years ago, I sat down to work out some figures and picked up the TV remote control, thinking it was a calculator.
I sat there trying to find the "on" button for what seemed like an eternity, before realising that I was barking up entirely the wrong tree.
I've also tried to put toothpaste on my Gillette razor. I frequently wonder whether I would have had a minty shave, or the mother of all dental flossing.
Fortunately I discovered the error of my ways just before launching into either of the possible activities.
I also bought a £10,000 car a few months ago and paid for it with the Office Account cheque book rather than a personal cheque. It took me ages to do the bank reconcilation at work that month.
Sometimes I wonder if they should ever have discharged me.
Cheers

A mate of mines bedside lamp wasn't working. He shook the bulb, tried it again, nothing. He checked the fuse, tried again, nothing. He put his finger into the fitting to "feel" the electricity....result! the lamp was live after all.
Seeing him sat there with a blackened finger, was one of the funniest things I had ever seen in my life.

Aha..I checked whether the cigar lighter in the car was working similarly. It was, and I had a concentric circle thumbprint for weeks!

As a teenager my brother, a mate and myself decided to make a homemade firework.
We scraped the tops of matches, and packed it into a small perfume bottle.
For some unfathomable (to me) reason, I held a match under it to set it off.
You can still see the scars when I get a suntan.

Basically its a programming/hardware error, with age both the software and hardware degrade. It is common with older models, but even freshly loaded ones like my ten year old sons, still manages to put the plastic yoghurt pot in the sink, and the spoon in the bin.
Anyone remember 'syntax error'?

My missus often sleepwalks - so I can find bath towels in the toilet, single shoes carefully put away in the larder, or ornaments creatively re-arranged in the airing cupboard.
Mind you, I once absent mindedly put the TV remote in the fridge.
Took hours to find, but it was nicely chilled.

Today, I was moments away from sending my V5c to my insurance company and my cancelled insurance certificate to the DVLA
I woke up one morning after a night out on the town and decided to wash my car. I was still a little tipsy but I did an amasing job. The interior was almost good enough to eat of and the bodywork was gleaming. That evening I go to use the car and its filthy. I curse the scumbag that dirtied my car up thinking it must be the work of scrotes. Its only when I register my mums car gleaming away in front of mine, that it clicks. I washed the wrong bloody car :O

Checking to see if my brake lights were working by dabbing the pedal and running round to the back of the car......
..and were they?
I can vouch for that, yep they work!
Have aften gotten outa my pit, boiled the kettle for a cupo of tea and then emptied the cornflakes into the cup.......dunno what thats all about. :confuddled:
This didn't happen to me but I witnessed it. Back in my Army days I was on a battle camp in Wales living in 4 man rooms, one bedspace in each corner. We had all returned from a serious night out quaffing ale and I was worse for wear, room spinning, couldn't sleep. I watched as the bloke in the opposite corner gets up and walks over to the adjacent sleeping fella. He proceeds to piss onto the loudly snoring bloke who is none the wiser. He then walks back and climbs back into bed without realising what he did. At this point I pass out, completely bladdered.
Next morning I wake to find the bloke who has been pissed on waking too. On seeing the enormous puddle under his bed he says 'Oh no, I've swamped!' I didn't have the heart to tell him the truth. It turns out that the 4th guy had also got up in the night and opened up his locker with all his freshly pressed kit and pissed all over it without remembering. Only evidence was a large puddle too. I think I got away by the skin of my teeth that day...
