Not sure what mine is, but it could well be the last (diner) scene in Pulp Fiction. Or, possibly the restaurant scene in When Harry met Sally.

The bit in Tuskegee Airmen when the white B-17 pilots ask for the black Mustang pilots to escort them. That's pretty deep.

Probably the scene in Apollo 13 when push really comes to shove. Tom Hanks says "Gentlemen. It has been an honour." and the three of them face their almost certain doom. The relief in the Nasa control center when they get radio contact.

Absolutely sublime. If it was just a scripted movie you would almost be annoyed at how callously the direction plays with your emotions.

But the dramatisation is of real events. And its just magnificent.

Omar Sharif's response to being told that he has dropped his phoney dog poo (man has picked it up to return it to him) -
Omar Sharif: "What phoney dog poo"

Or possibly from the same film

Nick Rivers (Val Kilmer): Is this the potato farm?
Albert: Yes, I am Albert Potato

Doesn't get better than this

Top Secret(1984).

i quite like the bit in Hot Shots with Charlie Sheen on the Motor Patrol Boat........as it passes the other boat playing 'chicken'.......there's his dad Martin ala 'Apocalypse Now'.......shouting 'i Loved you in Wall Street'

....which leads me onto one of my all time favourite bits

Colonel Kilgore, bare chested, standing legs akimbo - while all around him cower during the mortar attack.....'if i say its safe to surf this beach....its safe to surf this beach!'

and

Blade Runner: Rutger Hauers final scenes with Harrison Ford at the end.

Close Encounters....the appearance of the 'mother' ship at the end

Quadrophenia......Leslie Ash and Phil Daniels going 'up and down' in the alleyway

Those Apollo 13 scenes mentioned earlier are fantastic

Quite impressed with 'War of the Worlds' when you first see the Tripod.....and the noise it made :hidingunderblanketmodeon:

It's crass, but I like the moment when Steve McQueen's Mustang appears in the rear view mirror...

It is the music that does it.

Lalo Schifrin is a genius.

I agree. Apollo 13 is a fabulous film.

Have you also seen the most expensive TV Series ever made - From The Earth to the Moon - produced by Ron Howard and Tom Hanks.

Apollo 13 production values and incredible drama. Absolutely fantastic in every way.

The 'chase' scene in French Connection. No not that one with cars and trains but the one were they follow Frog 1 through NYC. As they close in on him in the subway station he's on the train, he's off the train, he's on the train....
Too many parts of Pulp Fiction to mention.

Favourite moments? So many, but here's a few.

Opening scenes to Raiders of the Lost Ark and Temple of Doom - sheer movie brilliance.

Clark Kent turns into Superman for the first time - The brilliant Christopher Reeves.

Contact - Jodie Foster travels to Vega.

Pink Panther - Clouseau in the Hunchback of Notra Dame disguise over-inflates hump and flies over the cathedral. AND "Ah yes, I used ot be known as the Pavlove of the parrelels...." or "That was an antique Steinway!", "Not anymore".

Ferris Bueller sings twist and shout on the parade float.

Back to the Future - George McFly (Crispin Glover) knocks Biff out cold.

In the Heat of the Night - Virgil Tibbs (Poitier) slaps the racist Endicote.

Star Trek the Motion Picture - we are treated to about five minutes flying around and past the new Enterprise in space dock to the sounds of the awesome new theme music.

Jurassic Park - Sam Neil's legs buckle as he (and we) come face to face with a truly real dinosaur for the very first time.

There are so many more, and I have stuck to relativley mainstream movies so far....

(Good thread Steve BTW)

Picture the scene...

Sunny day in a little foreign village. All is strangely peace and quiet after plenty of bell tolling and blasts.

There is a tank, going nowhere, Clint Eastwood storms up and demands to know what's going on, and Donald Sutherland looks back and replies.....
