Where do my socks dissapear to?
Discussion
I buy socks in pairs, wear them in pairs and put them in the wash in pairs.
So how come now I'm in a hurry to get dressed the only matching pair I can find are novelty Simpsons ones wrapped in a ball under the bed?
Are they eaten by the tumble dryer? I'd love to know... Theres a plot brewing :scratchchin:
For now though, I'll just give Homer and Bart a quick sniff... they'll do.

Every man has that problem.Women are to blame somewhere along the line
Nope, always vehemently denied... (hope I spelt that right)
What would women want with them? Maybe they store them up, so you think they are missing... you then give them money, to be spent on socks.
Socks re-appear, as does new bag, and the whole cycle starts again...
Never underestimate how crafty they can be...
Go on then Nerv, bet you can't remember the whole thing
:goes to watch entire series three to make sure he's not fibbing:

alt. buy plain black socks all the time ?
I've been doing this for the past couple of years. I only buy plain black socks in multiple packs of five pairs.
Yet, the age old problem is always there - no pairs
So now I have a single new black sock to be worn with either a christmas special simpsons sock (with obligoratory hole in the toe) or an old plain black sock (faded to grey) from years ago - before I bought the latest plain black socks - which conveniently, despite being bought from the very same shop, do not match the old ones.

Hi mate
And its all a double conspiricy that shops never stock the same design of black sock when you just want to keep levels up?
Hence more odd socks, and a need to replenish... good marketing

Weird isn't it I did exactly the same black sock thing with just same results - never two quite the same. So I tried buying three packs of five pairs of black socks with different coloured numbers (1 to 5) on each pair. Now I still have missing numbers and socks with the same number which have evolved to different colours.
I suspect a conspiracy by someone!

Hello I've just had a great business idea - 'The black sock company'.
Simple business plan really - make plain black socks of one design only and market them to all men. Zero development costs, no reinvestment required - just pure, unadulterated profit
Then open up a sister shop 'The black stockings company' - and spend an awful long time working with long-legged models to come up with many thousands of different designs.
I think I may be onto something here!

Prince George: Yes -- socks! Run out again!! Why is it that no matter how many millions of pairs of socks I buy, I never seem to have any?
Edmund: Sir, with your forgiveness, there is another, even weightier, problem.
Prince George: They just...disappear! Honestly, you'd think someone was coming in here, stealing the damn things and then selling them off.
Edmund: (laughs) Impossible, sir. Only you and I have access to your socks.
Prince George: Yes, yes, you're right. Still; for me, socks are like sex: tons of it about, and I never seem to get any.
