Anyone else read in the paper today that the Police look in on driver related websites for anything illegal ? In one paper, it said that some guy had been posting on on a site giving speeding advice, and told how he got his wife to take the points for a speeding NIP he got. They somehow traced who he was and then checked the pics and took him to court !

It is very sad. Here on PH we have arranged a goodly number of perfectly safe runs out that have been enjoyed by a great many.
I have noted that the more recent runs have had their arrangements communicated by email...presumably because of the fear of unwanted (and unwarranted) attention...
Its a shame - as the convenience of a web-page to refer back to has been a useful feature of the "Pie.." runs.
Should this year's "Pie On The Beach IV" go down the e-mail route?

Let's face it, anyone posting 'ha ha, they didn't get my face so I guess my g/f is getting her first points' is a bit ..erm...silly.
On a site that had that explicit raison d'etre, even more so.
There are a goodly number of bib that are members of th PH community, and I'm sure they are most welcome and valued for what they bring.
I'm not sure if deliberately monitoring sites like this for advance warning of someone going for a play is exactly in the spirit, but then if you don't shout, no-one will be offended by the noise...

Having members of the BiB using the site for work or pleasure is part of living in a free world. Sites like pepipoo are heavily used by BiB to attempt to cope with spirited (and legal) opposition to the use of scameras. However, big brother is, whether you like it or not, also watching you and if you advertise what you do, you live with the consequences...

Well there are a large number of people out there who voted the nanny state in for a third term - and nanny knows best, so she will keep an eye open to make sure you're not watching late night smut on TV, or buggering next door's cat. But isn't that what everyone wanted, and why the charming Tony is back at No. 10?
You should know by now that you are all guilty of liking cars, and therefore you are an anti-social criminal no better than a paedophile - and if you're not part of the solution you must be part of the problem, and so they need to keep an eye on you.

Charles Clarke allegedly wants a Europe-wide right to record and retian (for 12 months - yeah right) all email and telephone conversations so that they could be used in evidence in ... well, whatever cases someone in authority beleives the info might be useful I suppose.
Now that would be an INCREDIBLE IT challenge and would require the combined resources of all the leading con ... erm, Consultancy organisations and then some.. Not to mention an army of bureaucraps to read all the email and listen to all the phone conversations.

My guess is that either the Daily Mail go this very wrong - as would be usual - or big ears is serious and will be trying to spend a load of our hard earned on it.
In which case the only hope of gettig some of it back would be to buy shares in the big boys. Hopeless they may be but not as hopeless as the people that pay them for their fubars and I can see this one being worth trillions.
But for now - walls have ears.
