Nutella - Spoon or Bread
Discussion
It's apparently one of my life works to try as much Nutella as possible. I flip between spoon (mostly) and bread (though usually a similar sort of thickness to both). Anyway here are handy hints:
The best Nutella is German. It sounds stupid but it's definitely better than the stuff we get here (UK). It's somewhat thicker and goo-ier and spreads perfectly as opposed to the runny mush we get. Not only that it comes in sensible size jars (400g is the little jar, 750g is the per week model, I've only once had a 1.5Kg jar which was great and apparently a 3Kg jar exists too (aka the one month model)).
I tried Italian Nutella for the first time this week (though it was only single serve size) so not truly representative. It too was a better consistency than our but not as good as German. French Nutella is more creamy than the stuff we get though equally runny. Our stuff is quite poor quality (and what's the point of the 280g jar?), though can be improved dramatically by putting it through a cold cycle a few times in the fridge. The only consolation is that it's better than what the Americans have to put up with (extremely runny and clearly watered down to account for Americans bad taste in chocolate).
My recommendation therefore is go on weekend breaks to the Ring to keep yourself stocked up with the good stuff.
