Motivation in Heat

So, are you one of those who gets really motivated when its hot and gets everything done?

Or, like me, have you been staring at the pile of paperwork on your desk for the past 2 hours... hopeing it might go away of its own accord!!?

i have an exam on friday morning and i have done approximatley 0 hours work today cos it is too hot to think.

Nope, I have therefore gone to my regular pub (which has air con and wifi) with my laptop and am sitting in nice cool air, with a nice cool beer, posting this.

I will get back working assuming I don't get too distracted by PH

Motivation, I put mine down somewhere about four years ago and I haven't been able to find it since!

you should work at night like I did last night in the cool hours much more barable when working outside. and then enjoy the sun supping cold stella in the garden

Slightly cooler here today, thank God! But have two fans blasting towards me as I'm working. Well, I'm trying to look busy rather than working, so def the second option for me

External factors seem to confound everything I do at the moment, so motivation is at an all time low, and that was before the heat stsrted! I've got the windows open for a nice draught and the Tour de France is on the TV in the corner, so I'm watching other people work instead

sorry all, but my office is in my basement, contains 5 dual processor computers, shed loads of disks and a fax machine. Even with 3 big fans circulating the air, it's still 35˚C in there.

The machines are all ramping up their fans to maintain working temp, there's no way I'm working down there all day.

As per the recent Air Con thread in P&P, unfortunately there isn't an easy way to aircon the office since I'd need many metres of external ducting to give a fresh air supply to the unit. Expensive too.

Of course, given a few more minutes and more beer, I could come up with an even better excuse, but it's actually quite pleasant working here. Hic

Offically, how hot does it have to be before you can refuse to work...I'm sure there are minimum and maximum temperatures.

I have no motivation at the moment, presently stuck to my chair with betty swollocks!
