i am not trying to drag out an argument in any way, but since this thread was closed you rather denied folk the right to reply. again, I'm not trying to antagonize, i just don't understand a few of the things you've said, and was hoping that you might take a minute or two to explain them to me.

OK, first things first. i [i]totally[/i] don't get this. isn't the P and P the NON motoring forum within a motoring forum? if it isn't, firstly I'm badly mistaken, and secondly every thread currently running on the P and P is totally off topic. as always, I'm happy to be wrong, but this was my understanding of the nature of this particular aspect of the site. glad that you're respected though. that must be nice. if you have any going spare, i could really use some.

erm...[small] you are preaching[/small] and erm.. are you Ted then? if so, this makes perfect sense. if not, why are you contrasting what you want with what Ted wants? again, I'm happy to be wrong, so if you are authorized to speak for Ted, then thats fine. i simply don't understand is all.

erm.. where? where does anybody show off? i cant find it, could you show me? it seems to me that in the most part this is a fairly humble thread in tone, with people being very, very cautious about what they post, in accordance with the new directive.
moreover, i haven't done a count, but from a what i can see theres as many people on this thread saying that they would hate to see it become solely the kind of place that you prescribe Greg, as there would prefer it. does that count for anything at all? surely the members opinions count just as much as yours? maybe I'm wrong again. it happens.

Yawn, If I was Greg and I'm not I really wouldn't consider any of those questions worthy of a reply, he said his piece you don't agree a padlock appeared that should be end of matter. It's this kind of recycling cr4p that has helped drag P&P down, I can honestly say that I don't even bother to read half the dross that appears anymore and infact the only reason I'm commenting on this is because I know Greg have met him, and enjoyed some good banter with him over the past 4 or so years. So yes I can see where he's coming from, but if you can't I'm sorry I can't be arsed to explain it.
I spent some time away from PH due to moving, when I came back I looked at P&P and it was liberally spotted with a load of dross - chatroom antics and conversations that were really killing it. I actually nearly changed my homepage from PH (And PH has been my homepage for over 2 years now) it was that bad - it seemed every topic was being hijacked and turned into nonsense.
P&P is for off topic stuff, but reducing it to teenage style banter really is too far.
Thankfully however it seems to have improved of late - maybe the "telling off" was required, I don't know, but I really don't want to see the chatroom style returning if possible.
My 2p anyway.

If a thread was closed there was a reason why and we don't want new threads started up on the same subject or used to get a further point accross.
