Getting a duplicate sim card

Afaik there is only Vodafone in UK who will let you have two SIM cards for the same number. Only available to business customers, restricted tariffs and it costs you an extra £7/month.
If you have both devices switched on both ring and you can answer whichever you want.
Rumour hath it that O2 will be offering second SIM cards in Q4/2005, I'll believe it when I see it.
Alternatively you can get a pay&go sim and put that in your car and forward calls to that number. But you will be paying for the forwarded calls to the car, and of course outward calls from car will go on Pay & Go.
This is a completely normal thing in some European countries and UK service providers need to get their act together. At the moment the technology is there, perhaps figuring out a strategy to rip off the customers a bit more.
One thing is for sure there are more and more cars being put on roads with an inbuilt phone and SIM card reader. They are going to get some serious grief if they don't get their act together.

My Vodafone sim is almost split in half - the laminations are starting to come off as I keep changing phones (XDA II running Tomtom at the mo)
Anyhow is there a phone that can have 2 concurrent sims running at the same time?
Dual sim and Tri sims are no good as you have to repower the phone so it will only ring if that sim is active.
