I wouldn't worry mate - if you know what kind of car you like, then just learn stuff about it!

also, have a look on www.howstuffworks.com and you'll find loads of explanations on bits and bobs like how engines work and so on, that way you can at least keep up with what's said rather than just sit there going "erm... what was that again?"

don't worry bout it though - there's plenty of people here who would explain what such and such means - you just have to ask

Its just when you start looking at how it sucks, how much it squeezes, how big the bang is and just how much it blows it becomes a bit complicated

Don’t worry neither do we really, it’s rumoured that under the plastic that hides the magic black box from which all power is gained. Apparently it’s got whirly bits, that’s all you need to know really.

That howstuffworks.com is a great site, they used to have an internal forum but when the website was sold it went down the tubes. The forum now resides at www.howwhatwhy.com and is privately funded, it’s the best technical forum that I have come across on the internet. I’ve never seen a question go unanswered, not as entertaining as PH though due to it’s main contributors being engineers, mathematicians, physicists etc

Autozine technical schools website is fairly decent and www.billzilla.org is worth a visit.
