'Lance Armstrong has sealed a seventh successive Tour de France victory after a rare ruling by race officials.

Organisers decided to stop the race clock after the first of eight laps through the streets of Paris on Sunday because of the dire weather.

Armstrong still has to complete the formality of finishing the stage before his celebrations can begin.

The top sprinters, among them Robbie McEwen and Thor Hushovd, are expected to battle it out for the stage win.'

Not only has he won the tour 7 times, he's done this on a comeback from serious cancer treatment, including life-saving operations to remove tumours.

Someone else may come along and repeat the 7 wins, but probaby not the biggest win he has achieved.
