Farking Parking

MrsTip and I both have motorbikes. MrsTip's is light enough to get up two steps onto some private property outside our main front door to park (chained to iron railings). What are the rules regarding bikes on the pavement?

I ask as I would like the added security of being able to chain my bigger (and much more valuable/desirable to thieves) bike to the railings too, but the only way of doing this is to stick it on the pavement. I obviously don't want to have weekly/daily struggles with the stealth tax patrols.

I do have a bike cover over the bike - I understand that traffic wardens aren't allowed to interfere with bikes to get to the regestration number, or have I been misled?

That's correct. There's load of mopeds with tape on the plates parked on the paveemnt in central London although the Bib have wisened up to it and it's them that are issuing the tickets now rather than the wardens.
