RTE/Network 2 on Sky?

Would some kind soul be able to give me the frequency, bit rate and all the gubbins for these?

Apparently you can now get these channels in Northern Ireland on the digibox, but I need the details to get them into my 'other channels'.

I think you can only get RTE on Sky in Ireland (North & South). It appeared automatically on the EPG.

I sometimes listen to Mr Kenny's morning show on RTE radio on the Internet, if I remember to put it on.

If some nice person on the other side of the Irish Sea can look up the frequency on their box - something like 10.776 for example, the FEC and rate 22000 and 5/6 you should be able to install it this side of the water in your Other Channels section on the box.

I've got UTV stored in there. I just fancy watching a bit of Gaelic Footy and Hurling on a Sunday.

If it's broadcast over Astra, then we should be able to get it anywhere in the footprint area. After all your box doesn't know where it is does it? That will be why a friend get BBC1 South West in Tenerife ahem

In the UK you can pick up RTE radio on Sky ....

RTE 1: Ch 910
2FM: CH 914

Then there's
RTE Europe: Ch 892
RTE Lyric FM: Ch 915
RTE R na G: Ch 916

No tv over here that I know of (on Sky anyway).

No worries.

Many years ago I used to pick up all the live feeds from RTE from one of the hotbird/Utelsat/Astra satellites - but that was on the old analog system with motorised dish, etc ...

Kinky, I live in Northern Ireland and these channels appeared on my Sky box few months back. I'll have a wee hoke at the frequencies and all that other technical mumbo jumbo when I get home later.

Quite right, but RTE also broadcast their TV pictures via Astra - they are available on 267/269 on Sky in Ireland, therefore they are available anywhere within the Astra footprint - but you need to know the frequencies.

Is there a website list anywhere of these frequencies. I would love to be able to get Motors TV and Eurosport in their original european versions rather than the watered down ".uk" versions that come bundled with the box.

Last time I watched it was the last episode of Glenroe and I think that annoying turkey was still on TV. Not to mention some bloke who managed to defraud the public of millions while in a position of power and ended up having his memory prompted as to where he left boxes of evidence material after a judge helped him by offering him a stay in a government run hotel.

Do they still have the news in Irish every quarter of an hour?

When I bought the Sky digibox initially, I was living in the West Midlands and the default BBC/ITV channels were set to that region. On returning to N. Ireland, I had to phone Sky to reset the regional defaults...so Sky does seem to have some means of controlling the programme access based on region.

Let me know if you manage to get the RTE channels working.
