At the age of 27 or should I have grown out of it??

Made tea last night which include a garlic baguette with the pasta and for 45mins my flat mate complained at the smell of the garlic, got bored or his winging so picked up the aforementioned baguette and moved it.

Unfortunately for him it was conveniently hidden in his room

Got a txt today about how the house still stinks of garlic (he hasn't left his room today) and is complaining again.

Now do I move it when I go home from work or do I leave it and see how long it is before he notices the plate (15" diameter) with baguette on it. Oh and by the way its in plain view so god only knows how he hasn't noticed it.

My other flat mate has noticed it but not told him as he thinks its hilarious and wants to place a bet on how many days it lasts!!

I personally think its funny..

Your views?

Leave it. If he doesn't notice it then that's his problem...

I think playing practical jokes is fine. Although we aren't allowed superglue in our office any more

practical jokes are great fun as long as you don't mind the retribution

One of my ex-flatmates used to dish out the jokes but went mental when we climbed in his bedroom window (door was locked) and dumped a sack full of porn in his bedroom, knowing his g/f was staunchly anti smut & would be coming home with him that evening. That was very tame considering the pranks he pulled on us.

when it gets to the stage that everything on someone's desk is glued down, you know it's gone too far.

It only started with making sure someone got his tea money back (all glued to the top of his PC).

Then when I was out of the office someone glued mushrooms to my cup and it just spiralled out of control from there....such as how to make sure someone always has a pen on them....

Best trick with superglue is to glue the phone reciever down so it cannot be picked up. Great fun watching someone trying to answer the phone.

So which is it....hidden or in Plain View?

To answer your question, you're never too old to play practical jokes. So long as no lasting harm is done, go for it, but as others have said, be prepared to have them played back on you.

Sounds like you're flatmate has bugger all sense of humour.

Though thinking about practical jokes I just remember one my current flat mate pulled in his old house.

One of his ex flat mates was annoying, so they decided to get there own back on him. On a spur of the moment idea when the door was being unlocked everyone in the house did the scene out of the wkd advert, cue 4 blokes sat naked in front room when him and his then new g/f turn up.

But wait it gets better...

He went up to use the toilet and she went down to his room, one of the people then dawned a scream outfit (happened to be in the front room) picked up a meat cleaver instead of joke knife on route to annoying housemates room with said g/f in, stood at the foot of the bed and gave out an Oscar winning evil laugh.

Surprising enough she never went back into the house...

Only one word for that, genius!!

You hear people say about doing it, well I have super-glued a £1 coin to the pavement. About 5 meters away from where a few mates and I were sitting.

An entire afternoons humour for the cost of a £1. One bloke resorted to trying to kick the thing free and ended up stubbing his toe. I had to run to the loo otherwise I would have PMSL

Would recommend it to anyone who wants a little entertainment whilst sitting for a few hours outside a bar or café in the summer.

Hidden as in a gap between two item on a shelf, plain view as in gap is about 5" in height and plate is that big it sticks out of the back of the gap.

He has some sort of sense of humour as we have a quote board dedicated to his Freudian (sp) slips, like complaing that he didn't like the jam donut he was eating at it had the wrong type of flour on it, he thought it was plain flour. It took us 5 mins to stop laughing and explain it was icing sugar, to which his response was 'that what I said'.

Or when he hurt his right arm, we asked which one as we hadn't seen him fall and proceeded to say 'I fell over and hurt all along my right arm' strangly while using his right arm to point at his left arm to show where it hurt?

I'd probably stretch it out.

1.Remove the bread and tell him nothing.

2.Put another one back in a couple of weeks.

3. Repeat again and again.

How long before he goes mad?

Frozen prawns sprinkled liberally around his room.

mwah hah hah hah hah /

nowt wrong with a bit of tom foolery so long as you don't being on the receiving end too.

That said I have always been a bit of a joker and was repaid fat style on my stag night when a "mate" got me mashed and then convinced me to down 1/2 pint of creme du menthe topped up with strong lager.. only he told me it was just one shot of the afore mentioned.

I was not very well at all and in my mind he overstepped the mark by about a mile, I try to keep my jokes the right side of attempted manslaughter.

I regularly carry a little bottle of super-glue remover whenever I visit a certain client as they had a habit of putting super-glue on the toilet seats in one of the staff toilets. It wasn't meant for me, but most visitors don't use the staff toilets so they assumed a member of their (small-ish) team would be caught out.

I retaliated by gluing a Ford badge to the manager's Jag - to this day, I don't think they know it was me - as I still get asked to do work for them

Practical jokes are fine as long as they don't hurt people.

All the ones above sound great...except for the superglue'd toilet seat.

Get a rubber mask.

I have an Eric Cantona mask. I waited until my mum had gone on holiday, went round her house and strategically placed some pillows under the bed sheets in a body shape. In addition, I placed the mask on the pillow in a 'fast asleep' pose.

She suffered a mild angina attack when she returned from the Canary Islands and discovered a 'dead - ex french footballer' having a snooze in her bedroom. Best done with the curtains shut, as its slightly darker - I.E - Harder to detect the reality.

Oh, and I'm 34.

A version without damaging the phone is to just tape the receiver down with selotape. They end up holding the phone to their ear but its still ringing, Very funny

Equally good in the office is when two desks have identical phones...put them between the desks next to each other, but swap the receivers over...someone hears the phone, picks it up, it stops ringing but they can't speak to or hear the other person...
