PMSL when I read this happened in Malta. That’s just typical of them. It’s funny seeing these multi million pound super yachts come in and then some 1940’s rickety fuel tanker pulls up, the Mediterranean equivalent of Laurel and Hardy get out and then take an hour plus five arguments to get the fuel hoses attached to the tanker. I’m not surprised it ended up with the wrong fuel. They probably emptied the contents of a silage tanker into it!

P.S. I can’t see how the bill would run to anything like 1M let alone 7M. A bit of artistic license on the part of the reporter I think.

P.P.S. Since Malta is a hardcore bastion of Man U supporters (the Malta branch of the MU fan club has the second largest membership after the UK) maybe it was deliberate

If its got 120k's worth of the wrong fuel on board, that isn't 120k wasted for a start. They can pump it out and sell it ... for about 120k. Surely a tank that holds 120k's worth of fuel will not have to be cleaned so long as they can get it fairly empty, coz whatever residue is left will be massively diuluted by the next 120k's worth of fuel they add? So what are they left with? Cleaning the injection system? How can any of this remotely cost 7 million quid?

As i understand it it could knacker the engine which could cost 7 million to replace.
