Hmmm this one came up down at the erm pub on Friday.....thought I see what PH thinks...

So the moral dilemma is this....which is worse to sleep with a prostitute on a regular basis or to have an affair?

Okay my angle was that it's worse to have an affair as it's an emotional betrayal as well as a physical one, and of course a prossie knows the rules from the outset, whereas the affairie may not realise that you're not single.

IMHO To constantly have sex with the same person (ie the one you are not married to) whether she be a prostitute or your secretary, is having an affair - for it to be meaningless sex - it has to be with a different person every time!!

Hmm then it's more like keeping a mistress I suppose. But without the potential for explosive consequences that come with an affair?

I see an affair as an emotional betrayal and to me, that would be much worse than paying a professional on a regular basis as that's just a business transaction that happens to be for sex.

Personally, I'd hope to sort out my relationship before either one became necessary.

Hmmm a rose by any other name me thinks - mistress /affair - generally speaking again IMHO men and women cannot have sex for prolonged periods of time (and I dont mean in one go) without one or the other falling in love with the other person...
