OK, no more of this:

Non-believer: There's no God.
Believer: Oh yes there is!
Non-believer: Oh no there isn't!
Believer: He's behind you!
Non-believer: Where I can't see him?!
etc. :)

This thread is not about whether God exists or not, it is about if he did, how could he convince everyone, believers and non-believers that he really was God?

I don't want discussion about whether he would wish to prove such a thing, let's assume that he does for the purposes of this discussion.

So, God is on earth. He claims to be God. Everyone, believers and non-believers scoffs and calls him a loon. Kind of like David Icke. What does he do? What would it take to convince you he was God?

Think carefully about this - what couldn't we put down to a superior science, perhaps peformed by an alien race more advanced than our own?...

The most difficult task that I can think of would be to make me believe he was God, therefore if he succeeded in convincing me, he would, by my definition, have proved his Godhead. In other words if this geezer is THE deity, he'll think of something.

He would say that there would be an F40, F50 and Enzo in my garage... and there was. None of this walking on water twaddle!

But what might that be? How would you know he hadn't simply created an illusion? Maybe all over the universe aliens go around to less advanced races and pretend to be Gods? Come on, I want specifics!

Seriously though, advanced technology could achieve any of the things so far mentioned, so none qualify, even if they are amusing!

I think some of the good old standbys like feeding the masses from (almost) nothing, walking on water and raising the dead would probably do it for most people...

Well I don't think that Lazarus was wandering around going 'UUurrrrrhhhhhhhh' and trying to tear raw flesh off the disciples after Jesus finished with him, but I could be wrong...

If God was on earth he'd mind his own business. He doesn't owe us anything and if he showed himself you (the general you and not you personally roadsweeper) wouldn't believe him anyway because people don't want to believe there is a God. Any attempt to show a miracle would be jumped on as a fraud and people will start looking for the mirrors and wires.

So we would he try to prove his existence to people who were unable to make the leap of faith in the first place?

Modify the fundamental laws of the universe, and keep everything from falling apart.
If he could do that, as far as I'm concerned, He is God.
