Why has my fridge started freezing, instead of just cooling....?

I've told it I've got a freezer, but it won't listen.....

have you tried checking the thermostat thing. Sometimes it's easy to knock it without realising.

Does the thermostat click when you turn it up/down? If not, it's probably that which is stuffed.

Yes, it's not that. I turned it off via the thermostat and left the door open to melt the ice, then tiuned it back up. Now it's freezing again.

Fridges freeze up if you fail to shut the door. Wondering now if the cabinet's letting air in through a crack.....

Sounds like the thermostat contacts have got stuck together so you think it's turned off and it hasn't. A new thermostat costs about 15 quid.
