Apparently, "this one is yours to deal with". Hey ho,
OK I'll sort it out. Bloody women eh?, I mean, how big can a house spider be?
I didn't jump, just made a sharp withdrawal from the area when it tried to attack me !

OK, I will be back in a few minutes, I am popping into the garage, even though it's late and dark. I will get a 'big' spider, take its piccy, host it and post it. That tiddy little thing up above is NOT a big spider.

It's around the time of year for the bigger spiders to take refuge in your house.
I found a big bastard sitting on the stairs when (thankfully) the bird was happily asleep in bed. Otherwise the entire small town would have been woken up and the police called
He (then again aren't the biggest spider specimens the females??) just fitted inside the pint glass I used to pick him up with, so full diameter open legs (fnar) was around 9 cm.
No doubt we'll get some Aussie here posting a large Huntsman spider, but in a house in the UK anything over 8 cm is fairly noteworthy
I don't have a phobia, until they get big enough that I'm concerned that they can actually bite through human skin (most UK spiders can't get deep enough to cause any harm).
I don't really fancy chasing a large tarantula around my bed, having seen some blasted internet movie of a large tarantula ripping a white mouse to bits. Blood everywhere, nasty as
and definitely the impression that one of those could put a large hole in my arm.
