no use it as a torwue wrench only doing up(and stop when it clicks). never undo anything with it as it will very quickly go out of calibration.
People say that, but I argue that as long as you don't exceed the torque necessary to make the wrench click, what's the difference between that and tightening a nut to that setting? Not saying I do it mind you...
I use a Britool EVTR3000A, it's a ratchetting reversible design (so you could wind it up to 250 lb. ft. and use it to undo things).
Got it you-know-where for a song, magically around the time that the Britool warehouse was being cleared
It's 3 feet long, would make a nice clouting stick to carry in the car... :whistling: Nearest thing to hand, Officer...

yes probably right but the number of people Ive seen using a torque wrench and keep going after it clicks is amazing and I do mean putting everything they have into it.
I bought my torque wrench so I could "acurately" tighten bolts to the correct setting. If my wrench is out then there is no point in having it so I don't take the risk whether that risk be real or imagined.
I'm probably over paranoid about things like this

Fair point. Probably the same sort of monkeys who break a Snap-On screwdriver and then go back for a free replacement under warranty; after all it couldn't possibly be their fault could it?

Seems to be common with tyre fitters for some reason (no offense to any tyre fitters we have here), torque wrench goes click but they reckon it needs an extra heave just to make sure.
