Did anyone else see this?

Unbelievable. These little fuckers are remorseless idiots, unhinged from reality, devoid of compassion or responsibility and utter deviants.

They get next to no time in prison for serious crimes (for example only 2 years for dousing a lad in petrol and setting the poor bugger alight for knocking over a Pot Noodle FFS?)

Whilst there they are treated like sweet little lambs. Hippy, doo gooder twats talking to the little cunts as though they were wonderful and reasonable human beings, giving them one on one treatment most teachers at good schools could only dream of to vacant little twats with no brain. Infuriating!

This is why this country is in the shit; scum are not scared anymore. There are no consequences (many on the program did not want to leave), the mindless bureaucracy dreamt up by some lefty twat just gets laughed at and ignored and the lentilist mantra droned on at these little fuckers has as much impact as a gnat farting.

Society has to get its act together. Make prison a punishment. Its not fucking rocket science.

Hi, yes I did see it and you are right.

There is no deterent to being on the inside whatsoever.

They have pool tables, tv, etc and the 16 yo that was back after just over 2 weeks thought it was one big laugh.

Boot camp for the lot of them and they will wish they had never been born.....

Frightening how bad some parts of society are getting,.....

On the flip side I caught a bit of the US version of "Trisha", Sally Jessy Thingymajig today. Trailer trash kids who were just hideous nasty creatures get hauled off to survival/boot camp with tough marine sergeant types yelling in their faces and making them do army type survival stuff eating mice etc. Cue bawling teenagers feeling extremely sorry for themselves. Best bit was if they misbehaved at home afterwards they would get hauled off for longer. Strangely enough, none of them did.

Or rather it is down to us to tell our leaders that what they are doing is not good enough and sort it out or get kicked out.

The key problem, and the cause of much street crime, is that children are treated far more leniently than adults.

This is on the assumption that children are less responsible for their actions. I agree that we should treat first offenders leniently (depending on the crime) you should always give someone a second chance. However repeat offenders need to be sent down for long prison stretchers to protect the rest of society.

Recidivism from boot camp style prison for young offenders is better than from the soft regimes detailed in this programme, but not by a whole lot. I do agree that the boot camp type regime is preferable though; people have to remember how bad the background alot of these young offenders come from, which is why prison has to be pretty bad before it fazes them.

I've long been a proponent of the idea that prisoners should not be allowed to mix with other prisoners whatsoever. Mixing them inside is taking someone out of an environment where there are some people who are going to be bad influences and putting them into an environment where most are bad influences. Lock them in their cell 24/7 with a basic treadmill/exercise bike so they can exercise, a cold shower in one corner and loo in the other and a tv showing non-stop religious and educational programming. Only visits from family, official prison and health visitors. Strangely enough don't think it will ever happen...

Something like 80% of crime is committed by only 20% of criminals, so cracking down on repeaters/'career' criminals and intervening early is the way to go.

Also I may be talking out of my arse, but whatever happened to 'honourable' crime - i.e. like back in the Krays type era where most crime was done by the mobs/families, and ni the very same throw there was not much petty/needless violent crime that we see now because there was a 'code of conduct' type thing.

A bit like the mafia, everyday people never needed to be scared, cos the mafia kept all the tw@ts down, and you could walk the streets safely. Nowadays you can't for fear of Uncle Tom Cobbly and Sons coming to douse you in petrol for you £2.39 in change...

I'm saying this in a rehtorical sense, in that while I don't agree in organised crime, it may have it's place - I bet the police wish they could get back to 'proper' crime fighting! and not all this stupid needless petty stuff

Sorry but thats rose coloured specs, media and cinematic distortion etc. The Krays, Richardsons and their like were scum of the first order and it sickens me to see their lionisation over the years.

Fair do's, like I said I don't know as, 1. I'm not old enough to know, and 2., I only know what I've read/seen.

Having said that, I am old enouggh to be respectful of the law (apart from the speeding camera ones) and also, and as a result I feel like RESPECT is what is missing from the youth of today.

Any respect is gained from fear (as far as I am concerned) and these programs like the Foreign Legion and yesteryear Army boot camps only show too well how true this is.

The Foriegn Legion programme was the best bit of telly I've watched in a while - even the missus liked it, and totally reinforced my opinions.

All of them need to learn respect and manners. When i was a kid (I'm 21 now) I wouldnt say boo to a goose was polite to people and all that jazz. Now its exactly the same if i happen to be on a bus and a granny or granda or someone who needs a seat more than i do I'll gladly get up and give them my seat and they look at me like i've got 2 heads cos someone outta this younger "thug/chav" generation is doing something polite.

Don't you dare stop doing this, because you think they're not thankful. More selfless acts like these are required if society is to return to the good old days.

The stats showing that there were 3 care workers to every "child" made me laugh when compared to the 1 teacher per 35 children you get in your average State school.

As for the little female chavette at the begining of the programme who took great delight in advising the reporter of her violent streak in headbutting people, standing on their heads etc etc. WTF !! Not usually an advocate of violence, particularly against women, but would happily introduce her pram face to the end of my boot.

But what do you really think Spandexx? I sense that you're not being candid enough in your views. I think you should be prepared to commit to your position a little more assertively.

I agree with the idea of a real prison posted above.
With repeat offenders, if they are let out and continue to offend, just leave them in jail for the rest of eternity.
Make sure they never see other prisoners and let them think about what s they are!
