For some perhaps, but I find it hard to believe that a drunk like myself could have ever gotten sober without help from a higher power. Must have been some kind of divine intervention happening for it to have occurred.

One of my taxi fares the other day was talking about his recent relationship with God and how he had turned to be a christian,my first thought was 'well atleast this guys not going to do a runner',he chatted about being a christian for the 20 mile journey and seemed an up together responsible young man, even talking about how being a christian affected the relationship with his girlfriend who was not a christian ,he also mentioned that before becoming a christian he suffered from depression and mental problems but since had come of the drugs and was coping well,i must admit my first thought was was he conscripted at a vulnerable time of his life,,but looking at it it seemed to change his life and make him stronger as a person,,,,just my thoughts.

Seems to me that everyone needs props; be they drugs, religion, friends, partners. Some are just better for you than others...
