Ok dokey, I promise not to mention ladies bits in this post no matter what the temptation..

I have no god... because there is no such thing.
I have no faith in things i cannot have proven to me.
I am considered by those that dont really know me to be almost amoral in my dealings with the ladies.
I hope my friends know that I am the one that can always be counted on.
I believe I am generous to family and friends.
I am totally intollerent of idiots and hate my time being wasted.

Am I in some way missing out because i dont bow down five times a day and acknowledge a greater power? Or not going to church once a week to be preached too by some wisened old boy?

I really dont believe in a greater being apart from the IR and HMCE as they have most sway over my life.

Why oh why am i being preached to, seemingly constantly as in some way missing something?
Why is reality not enough? Why are we so afraid to face the fact that we are born, we make our mark and then we are no more?

Why is that not enough?

Reminds me of that sketch where Rowan Atkinson is playing the devil and sorting out all of the lost souls, he points to the aetheists and says

'ah yes atheists, I bet you feel like a right bunch of plonkers don't you'

S'ppose there's only one way to find out, and it's a one way trip. Still is it not better to be safe than sorry?

Christians?.... Sorry; the Jews were right.

Are you happy?
When your not Sh*gging do you sleep at night?
Do you feel fullfilled?

If that's a yes a yes and a yes then no need to add anything else to your life.

I think many look to a 'God' to fill a void in their life.

There is a part of the brain specifically dealing with religious experience isn't there? They did a test on some bhuddist monk from tibet and he turned out to be completely happy or content or some other crap, despite the fact he lived with a couple of goats, a stick and cloth. He was also a former european scientist as well (which is why he was interested and more willing to undergo the scientific tests/ brain scans etc) makes you think, I've always had the yearning to go an live in a monastery for a while, no idea why, just something that appeals, I've since discovered I'm not the only one....

You want others to prove things to you? What about the journey that is your life? Why should anyone prove anything to you if you're too lazy to try things for yourself to see what's what.

It seems to me that some people are prepared to accept things that others 'prove' to them without trying to see for themselves.

Certainly would be an eye-opener. Possibly enlightening.

Always fancied spending time being taught Tai Chi in that kind of setting but I suspect I would find my 'modern' lifestyle too hard to give up.

We can't prove empirically that matter exists at scales smaller than the Planck length. So by the above logic you don't actually believe the universe exists.

If someone's harrassing you, just get a restraining order on them. I've never had anyone preach or judge me in this respect (or at least I haven't noticed).

Yes, but does Quantum physics believe in you? Could be that you are a manifestation of an identical being intruding upon our 3+1 dimensional space through a compacted superstring from a parallel world...

Quantum Mechanics - fascinating...

I also believe that our interpretation of the universe is limited by our feeble range of senses. And we as humans will attempt to analogise our interpretations as we are so damn stupid and insignificant.

No need to put yourself down rich......
Even taking your view as the starting premise surely then you are the most important individual in the universe as the universe is subject to your interpretation/experience of it?

Humans are so untrustworthy.. I mean, we might not even be here.. The earth could be a molecule under the great ones toenail... We could be part of some massive computergame...

Erm... I think I'll go with the scientists! At least I can test some of their theories... I have to die to test relogion...
