Some veggies don't realise that cultivation of crops probably causes more bloodshed than eating an entire cow.

Always thought that myself. How can you live without having a nice juice steak, or burger every now and then.

I'll let you into a secret, some people, Mrs Yrth included, just don't like meat.(Although she does eat fish and seafood these days).

Bastard.

I'm trying to lose some weight and there you are making me think about steak, gammon, sausage, egg, bacon, black pudding and mushrooms with English mustard, a portion of onion rings and two pints of bitter.

Grrr.

Cheers

Pat, As the Wiganners idea of a well balanced diet is a pie in each hand, losing weight shouldn't be too difficult.

If you really enjoy meat and fried eggs, check out the Atkins diet.

Bacon is lovely but just before bed I think is dangerous - pig fat is digested more readily then lamb or beef fat so it's not good for a person. Damn sure nightly bacon sarnies are what prematurely did for my Dad. That and the late night cheese and whisky sessions.

of course to raise the cow you need to cultivate the crops first.

I eat very little meat, simply because I've stopped enjoying the taste. A few years ago a medium rare fillet steak would've been perfectly acceptable, now I can't stand the taste of it . Weird huh? Bacon, ham, chicken etc are still (just about) fine, but if someone told me that I couldn't eat any meat ever again, it wouldn't bother me in the slightest.

Mmmmmm, nothing quite like a bowl of lentils.

Oh and I hope all you lot buy free range meat/poultry, yes it costs more, but it means that the animal you're scoffing has actually seen daylight and isn't stuffed with growth enhancing drugs.

Same here, although now I tend to find medium rare overdone so just stick to rare
