It's put up or shut up time

A friend of mine is an advisor for military film and TV programmes. He sometimes gets asked to provide uniforms and extras for productions, and I must have carelessly mentioned that I wouldn't mind being an extra, if he ever needed one...
Oops! Tomorrow I shall be taking part in a meticulously re-enacted WW1 battle - and whether I shall be British or German, officer or grunt, or live or die is unknown. Even my friend can't say as he's not directing.
So I'm off tonight for a uniform fitting and if you never hear from me again, you will know what happened!
Wish me luck as you wave me goodbye.
Cheerio - here I go - on my way...

I'm back for a bit, having spent two hours in a splendid old barn somewhere in England... but it looks remarkably French. Haven't seen the ruined village yet but I hear it's excellent.
The trousers fit, the boots fit (with some very thick socks), tunic is getting buttons sewn on, helmet is stupid but that's how they were; will do battle with puttees and webbing tomorrow. 6am start
At least I know how to use a rifle
So - unto the breach we go chaps - and the remarkable thing is that there's already a cameraderie springing up amongst us, Khaki Devils and rookies alike.
Will be back tomorrow night... hopefully.

See if you can get a lead actor to admit he was in the SAS and that it really stands for Super Army Soldiers
("Extras" reference for those who haven't a clue what I'm on about.)
didn't think snuff movies were legal??
