I notice many countries have posted improvements in their unemployment rates and despite the trouble/unrest in parts of the world the stock markets seem to be making gradual gains again (particularly the Asian markets). This seems to be despite unfavorable energy prices.

Is a worldwide economic recovery starting?

This is probably more down to the economic giant that China is becoming. Since their labour rates are much lower than ours, cheap imports can only affect our manufacturing industry adversely.

Um yep that would account for the inversion in the US yield curve, the sharp decline in US business/cosumer confdence, and the rising umemployment/ deteriorating state of the UK public finances.

IMO we have seen a Global economic recovery over the past 3 years, problem is it has been fuelled by a large mountain of (largely) consumer debt. And this recovery is just about running out of steam.

I admire your optimism. But I'm afraid that I think it may be somewhat misplaced.
