Bought a kodak Easyshare cx7300 digital Camera this April from my local Comet store.Came to use it on Wednesday and the little flap over the batteries had split down the middle. Took it back, having only used it a dozen times and was told by the salesman that it wasn't covered by the warranty and would cost a minimum of £80 to get it fixed ( The Camera was only £59.95 brand new ) Got home and rang Kodak straight away. Brilliant service,Camera picked up today by UPS, will be repaired free of charge under the warranty and returned to me a.s.a.p. Well done Kodak, Comet could learn a lot from you about customer relations.

Ditto, their salesperson didnt even let me finish my transac tion before she answered the phone. And then wandered off when I tried to ask her warranty questions afterwards.

It's interesting that Comet are now advertising on TV saying that they are actually training their staff.

Quite a step forward as for many years they only appear to have employed wits who know as much about the goods they sell as your gran. And probably less.

I find it incredible that the company is actually making a marketing ploy out of the fact they might train their staff.

You get what you pay for. Want a cheap toaster? Fine, just don't expect any after-sales service.

Comet!.......... DITTO!!!

A stereo system I once had went bust during the warranty period, took it back, after a "repair" they tried to say that it was right (all they had done was to disable the dolby pro-logic). Went back, ended up in a shouting match with the store manager in front of all his customers.

Took the stereo to an independent repairer to get a report, he let me down in the end saying he couldn't give me said report because of the fear of the Comet organisation (he'd never get any more work if he did),.....Bastard!

Comet?........Take my advice, go there and check their prices and ask someone else if they can match it!

I go there now to do just that, and when an assistant asks if He can help I reply loudly: "No thanks, just checking your prices!......but I won't be buying here because I've learned from experience that your customer care is CRAP!"...........

And another thing, when I bought the camera the salesman said that the batteries were rechargeable, and they're not.Steer clear of comet if you're looking for good service that you'd recommend.
