Hi Cliff
Yes it is... trouble is, I get it the other way around! Women around my area are a pain in the arse, I seem to get attention from really dodgy birds down here in Kent. And the really nice lookers are right up their own arses.
When I venture north of say, Bedford, and west of say, Oxford things are so much better.
People in general are just more friendly. Living in the S.E is really starting to get on my wick. Its good for the money tho
And yes, generally the people I get on with online do live around 300 miles away

Used Faceparty, met some really nice birds. Not your usual internet desperados. There are still a big batch of "on the shelf" birds with their biological alarm clocks ticking. Met some good people. There are so many to choose from, I've been out with surfing birds, petrolbirds, skinny ones, fat ones, black ones, yellow ones, the whole shebang. If I was single, I'd go for it, whilst you are sat here mulling over your boring life, you could have a few birds on the go. I saw 3 in one week and it was such an ego boost.
I can't actually say any of them were mingers at all.

Ive found the same and i am going to generalise here a little but the truth needs to be said, expects to get flamed
,in my experience woman in the south East are either chav birds that have done the rounds or they are the type that have got their heads so far up their materialistic @rses they are not the sort i want to be with no matter how attractive they are, they are like a new breed of woman with a chauvanistic mans attitude, they seem to think they are better than the chav bird but when it comes down to it are probably worse as they have their price for anything,,,however there are some nice ones but ime of the mind they are all taken......Narthern woman ive found are pretty down to Earth, they know what they want and how to get it and have a bloody good time whilst they are at it although they are starting to get the materialistic copies of the ones down south,,,ime not ashamed to say(thinking about the old stigmas)that ive done my fair share of internet dating but find it is still no match for the real thing ,i prefer to meet someone face to face ,get the spark and go from there, all this chatting for ages on the net with both sides having this impression that they are communicating with their dream partner and then the meet is getting tedious, but hey ho as they say love turns up when you least expect it

Good grief, if that's your limited experience to date of women in the South-East then you clearly need to get out more.

I agree, when it comes to internet dating, though I haven't actually done any for a while (might get back on soon) I find its good to quickly locate someone who roughly meets your criteria have a quick chat to them to make sure they aren't stupid or annoying or otherwise undesirable. Then you arrange a date as soon as possible. If you spend ages chatting before meeting then you form an unrealistic and idealised version of them in your brain which they cannot live up to. So meet ASAP and it works much better.
Its like buying a used car really, you starting thinking about what you like, the features you want/need, you'll fantasize about exotic models but really you can't afford them, they remain a dream, so you stick to what you can afford, sometimes you might want something cheap even if you can afford something better, or maybe you'll buy something you can't afford to run.
You look through online listings, the paper, car yards, cars on the street with 4sale signs, maybe even approach someone on the street if you really want that particular model. You never look at just one car at a time (assuming you are looking seriously and not idly browsing when one catches your eye...) you normally identify a number of listings that you will be interested in, then call/contact them to narrow it down and find more info, some will be sold, some sound dodgy over the phone, some have 'missed' important details and so on.
Eventually you have it rounded down to a manageable number and you arrange an inspection, normally you will have a few inspections to make in a day/weekend and so you group them by area so your not travelling all over the place needlessly. When your inspecting cars you can immediately cross some off the list without a test drive, sometimes you can see the car as you pull up and decide just to keep on driving. Then there are those that seem to pass initial inspection, and so you arrange a quick test drive to see how she drives. Some may feel like they have a few too many miles on the clock, even younger models can seem worn out, you might come across an older model hardly used at all though, these are rare. Some might drive terribly, some fantastic.
Some you might decide to buy on the spot on a whim, some may take a day or so of consideration, dont take too long though, remember your not the only buyer and good buys get snapped up quickly. You should never buy sight unseen though, far too much chance of things not turning out exactly as they are described. Once you have bought your new car you may have many years or trouble free motoring, or it may turn out to be the devil incarnate. Or somewhere in between.
Eventually you might trade it in for a newer model, maybe you'll just have a fling with a newer model at work or something. Maybe you'll buy another car as a 'trackday' fun machine, buts its only a weekend fun car. Maybe you'll find one car you really like and stick with it for the rest of your life like your grandfather, or maybe stick with it a while then chop it in for a younger sporty model like your father. Either way you'll look back fondly on some of these old cars, your fumbling first time when you bunny hopped across a tesco car park, that exhilirating time when you broke the speed limit in a public place with the thrill of being caught, that discreet affair with a classic car that sunny weekend. You'll remember some of the cars that drove you mad with their faults, but you'll also remember their faults and foibles as some of the very things that ended up endearing them to you.
wow that went longer than I thought, maybe I should finish it and polish it up and submit it as a PH article? :scrathchin:

A typical womans reply however i did also say,
"however there are some nice ones but ime of the mind they are all taken"......
and knowing how the female sex like to torture our minds by having the memory of an elephant and only remembering the parts that can be used against us it is to be expected.

Use the man defence, not caring, or at least pretending not to care. If you don't care their guilt trips are useless.

A typical man's response saying it's "a typical woman's reply".
I know you also said this, but they're not all taken - that's a plainly ridiculous notion (although I do appreciate you said "in your experience" etc). Plenty of single women around who would fit the criteria of the person you would most like to meet. You've just got to drag yourself away the keyboard and start looking. Enjoy it - it should be fun.

Sorry to say that's my experience too... plus there seems to be a surplus of girls with ankle-biting attachments round these parts. Been there done that, not doing it twice.
Think it's telling that the best strike rate I've had by far has been southern hemisphere lasses from SA and Oz, and the occasional one from the Eastern Bloc.
Got to say those girls seem a lot more friendly, upfront, approachable, like it's a two sided exchange to see if you're both compatible. Local girls, I feel like I'm expected to perform, to impress, and to buy my way into sharing a taxi home
Friends have found the same thing... except one mate who manages to pull every time he goes out - but he's a good looking bodybuilder. Seems there's a lot of shallow birds out there... so I've joined a gym

You mean to say that some women are judging men by their looks the way most men judge women? Really? *Tut tut*...
You'd best get yourself down to the gym then!
I guess it's fair to say that an increasing number of women can afford to be more choosy now that they're financially independent and less likely to be looking to settle down.

Nah - they're after a one nighter with a trophy bloke.
Good point though - my mitigation is that you wouldn't know that I tend not to judge so much on looks (or certainly, I temper my judgement a great deal based on visible personality and attitude, not awarding marks out of ten).
Mind you, this is gender-oriented mate selection tendencies based on primeval instinct and I'll not pretend that guys don't make an appearance judgement first and foremost.
I do think that the musclebound physique gives an illusion of safety and protection in addition to simple attraction to a portion of the female populace.

Yes but despite this independence, I've not found in my experience that this reduces the desire to select a male based on provider status, ie money & power. The inherent selection criteria remain (and why should they not, they're ingrained to a greater or lesser extent).
I can't do so much about my earning potential, but I can go down the gym and improve what I've got. Or undo the damage done in my twenties, if you like.
Nevertheless, there's a definite distinction (in general) between indigenous girls and migrants, whether temporary or not. Expectations amongst local girls seems so high as to almost make it too much effort. Almost...
Try and get a book on Darwins second theorem "Sexual Selection". The crux of the matter is that women chose the chaps in terms of their fitness indicators, by that I mean big muscles, talents, intelligence, etc, etc. The theory explains how humans have evolved to use their big brains where other things, ie:-dolphins have not. Intrinsic is the good old money/power thing but not primarily. The evolution of these fitness indicators is a "peacocks tail" as a result of female selection. I suppose the irony is that we as a species evolved these traits influencing our culture but nowadays the bias is to the fiscal element. I reckon evolution with regards to sexual selection for our species has finished. Having said, it is practiced by the breeding masses so perhaps a future member of the species will be able to fill his dole forms in 5 seconds, drink 40 pints of Stella and still manage to fight someone or have acres of skin for more tattoos.
I have a theory that financially secure women actually go in the quest for men with the original Darwinesque fitness indicators. There is a hell of a good book called "The Mating Mind" written by some prominent evolutionary biologist, sadly I have lent it to someone.

And thay are judging them by the size of their wallets, what they drive ,where they live etc etc,,i guess i am at an advantage as driving a black cab and being sober allows me to take part in my favourite pass time of people watching
