I have an 0845 number, provided by a local small business, and received a call from the main providersaying it had not been paid for. But I dont know who they are, and havnt heard back from them.

I cant contact the small local business, have been trying to do so for 3 months (to discuss other matters) but my messenger messages, emails and phone calls go unanswered.

Can you trace an 0845 number, back to its main provider? Id like to pay the bill, and not loose the number.

Surely, they will contact you formally if somethings wrong?

Phone 100 and ask the operator to tell you who the telephone number belongs to.

Track it down on the Internet from there. You may find the operator you arrive at (the 0845 operator that is) wont tell you who their customer is (there will be a middleman) - so simply tell them not to be so stupid and hand over the name and that Data Protection is not a reason for not telling you.

UKBob, if you shoot me an email via my profile, I'll be able to tell you who the numbers belongs to. I have access to the list of operators that can provide them.

A small local business broking 0845 numbers sold me mine. Ive spent 3 months trying to contact the local business (the woman that runs the company has owed me money for 18 months). I got a call from the parent company (the company she obviously got the number from) who said the 0845 number had not been paid for, they didnt give me their details, they said they would call back, but never did. So I need to find out who they are.

I did knock on this ladies door late last night, her car was there, but I was told she was not in

I think it might be these guys:
IV Response Ltd 102 Cavell Street, London E1 2JA 020 7717 1766 0871 755 0800

Not sure. I advertise my business in nearly 100 papers nationally every week, and this number is obviously very important to me. Just hope things dont go pearshaped and I get to the bottom of it, and can take over the re-billing of the number myself.

Bob, this sounds like a legal issue. You have a contract with here (she's probably skint) and she has a contract with the provider. Maybe a stern letter via your sol's will get her to give you the details. You could reduce her debt by a few quid as an incentive?

I finally got hold of her.

wooooow

Rather than trying the sterner approach, ask a woman "come one, whats wrong" and they just cant resist replying.
