Well my trusty iPaq 3970 will be three years old next month. It was the dogs danglies when I bought it but I think 3 years is a reasonable lifespan for an item such as this.

I was rather hoping that mobile phone PIMs would have progressed to the extent that I could do away with a PDA by the time this one became obsolete but they still aren’t quite there for me yet.

So what says the Oracle that is PH on the subject?

Budget is around 500 GBP. WiFi and Bluetooth is a must.

I've got an XDA II, and I'm very pleased with it.

All the stuff you need, plus full internet access, email, etc, etc.. Quite frankly, I use about 10% of its capability! Can't remember what I paid for it (£350 seems to ring a bell + £40 per month). I wouldn't be without it now though. I often surf PH (and other sites) on it when I'm out & about, in fact.

I keep looking at 4700's with their 640x480 screens. I've got a 3970 and it's still going good guns (and a 3600 for the car, which with a new battery outlasts the 3970).

I have an IPAQ 4150 Bluetooth and WiFi. Been no trouble in the 2 years I have had it.

5550 bought from ebay as over ordered stock about 6 months ago for £250. Only upgraded from a 3850 due to compatability issues with PPPC2003 and bluetooth, (which I solved almost as soon as I got the new one..)

had one of those... battery appeared to die (as in last no longer than about 3 days; previously 2 weeks). replaced the battery and that went from 5 days to 3 days in a week. it now makes an expensive coaster. :|
