Toddington and Flitwick are pretty close to the M1.
I know that much!

Seriously, Toddington and Flitwick
(pronounced flit-ick BTW) are both ok. I pass them on frequent trips to the M1.
If you want advise of properties slightly further afield, like Shefford, I have a daughter living there.

Isnt there a website called 'myneighbourhood' or similar, it gives you all the demographics about an area, crime rates, schools, local infastructure, social demographics etc etc. I will ask Mrs BG, she's bound to know being a curtain twitcher.

We live near Goffs Oak... very, very posh. Very nice apparently. I'd live there if I could afford it and I'm one of the best people I know.

Toddington is quite nice - we have friends there and visit it a lot. Ampthill is nicer IMHO.

Flitwick is souless, a commuter "village/town" with a Tesco's as it's heart.

Ampthill is very nice, dont think much of flitwick, like the other post its pretty lifeless. Dont think much Toddington myself either. Shefford is nice too and the villages around it with good roads to the M1 and A1.

spent the first 18 years of my life in ampthill (next door to flitwick) -

some nice local boozers, lovely park (from which you can see millbrook test track) and some good schools - flitwick, on the other hand, is soul-less commuterville...

Lived in the nearby village of Silsoe which is rather nice, Flitwick on the other hand is a toilet. Toddington always looked ok on the way to work in Dunstable (which isn't nice) and had the worlds fattest road sweeper, worth moving to the area for him alone.

My parents used to live near and my mum worked in Goffs Oak for a while. This was while Goffs Oak had a very famous resident! Trying to drive down her road to the boozer at the end was a nightmare, photographers everywhere

Flitwick or Toddington, never lived in either, but used to work round that area.
Wouldnt live there myself, like the others said, Ampthill (about 2(?) miles from Flitwick) or Silsoe are good.
If you are looking for somewhere with good access to the M1 then Ridgemont or Woburn are nice both VERY nice, just one junction up the M1.
