I have some fields near my abode and was completely mobbed by crane flies when walking across them. Got one bouncing off my screen right now (pesky bleeder!). Anyone know why we are being over-run?

Seems normal for this time of the year, Mrs Ex absolutely can't stand them. I get many brownies points for catchign the mand dispositing them out side again.

best Ex
Don't ask about brownie points, they've got nothing to do with fridge doors

'Tis indeed the time of year. I find a non-splat leaving stun shot works best. They then fall to the floor and the dog eats them.

Long legged, winged fiends keep flying in through my living room window this evening. I assume they are attracted in by the light.

Unfortunately for them, but much to our amusement, the cat is obsessed with chasing the bu99ers round the room then devouring them!

There does seem to be an endless supply of these suicidal oddities though!

Normal for September. These are the newly born adults emerging from the pupae.

Numbers are down this year though- like wasps, the spring was too wet.

Sadly, we find it very entertaining when the cat jumps 8 ft up the wall to catch them....

My dog is too. She's 11 now and she has grey hairs around her chops. Rattle her food bowl though and she moves like a puppy
