Do they make honey?

I had this argument at the weekend whilist sitting around a campfire - I say they don't, but I can't find anything that says they actually do OR don't!

Can anyone enlighten me?

Collect them NOW.

My friend and I have been collecting live wasps since the petrol crises took hold a few days ago.

Their urine is a substitute for petrol.

ETA: Oops, sorry, its Bee's.

BP.

No - that would be bees.

Adult wasps live on anything sugary - nectar/jam/ice cream/anything that you have in your hand just to annoy you - but the infants eats meat...usually other insects.

[edit]no - not bee urine.

I thought it was any urine that would do - as long as it is stood for at least 3 weeks.

Dave - the adults eat meat too; witness them eating the squashed insects on the front of your car.

Also, did you know that you can freeze wasps? Catch, stick in freezer. Take out at unusual time of year (say mid January), and leave them in little sister's room to thaw out for comedy potential. Some of the critters will wake up and go a-stinging.

According to my cousins who live in Sri Lanka, cockroaches can be similarly cryogenically preserved too.

Got walloped for that one, unsurprisingly.

But why would you want to release them again at another time of year?

Great stuff - I knew they didn't make honey!

Now, I need some tangible proof - anyone got a link to a website I could print stuff from?

They can't make honey but they can make paper. If they teamed up with bees they could set up a little business.
