FFS reading this article on the news (mad sadistic bastard who should rot|http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/manchester/4248814.stm) had me fuming. That son of a bitch will no doubt be out is less than 14 years and, in my opinion, society should never have to put up with him again.

Bad machine? Well unplug the fucker, don't release him!

I am sorry, but no matter how much someone agrues it, I cannot see the point in attempting to rehabilitate someone like this.

Maybe I am a barbarian, but I fully advocate the death penalty for someone like this.

14 years? That's just a cruel joke, and I think it is just a sad reflection of how weak our society has become.

Kept thinking about this case as I was painting my shutters, trying not to imagine that it was my daughter attacked by this nutter.

Increasingly I think that our justice system should be an amalgam of modern and ancient when it comes to these violent crimes that crap on society's moral values. A modern front end with quality police work (that would make things easier) and a fair trial, followed by a medieval, draconian back end when it comes to sentencing.

Why let out someone who is obviously twisted - do you really believe that they can get better if they're that sick? And all the sociologists - he was mistreated, it's not his fault, etc. - fine. That may be the case, it's very sad, but that is no justification for even considering letting nutters back into society. If we can't top them because we're worried about executing the wrong person (hence the quality police work), then at least be rational and lock them up for ever.

Phew, feeling better now. I'll just go back for a bit more of that Jamesons....

How come these folks dont get dealt with by MOP when they are released? I suppose its a case of rant & rave when we read about it in the paper, but nobody actually waits the 14 years and then gets some mates together to sort him out on release. Who amongst us will be thinking of this guy in 14 years? except his victim.

I wonder how many of his type were released yesterday, today, or tomorrow that committed similar acts many years ago and that deserve to be given a 'seeing to' but just fade away unnoticed and unchallenged.

14 years, he'll be out in 7 with good behavior.

This person should be locked away for his entire natural life, or to be cold about it, more economically he should be executed.

mm, death penalty. Great if you can prove 100% that the bloke is guilty (before I get flamed, hey this one sure did seem so)

but would you trust a jury with life and death over a fellow citizen? what if you were up in the court on some charge you were innocent of? You can't rectify a mistake if the persons dead.

shame really as personally I'm well up for death penalty in certain situations, just that we don't have a 100% foolproof justice system

I think the fact that he filmed the attack on his mobile phone sort of seals this one Oh and that he spent the evening in a nightclub in full view of doorstaff, bar staff, other clubbers, the taxi driver etc before he attacked her.

Edd I agree with your comments.
If this Guy is %100 Guilty then Death is not Good enough for the Scum.
There are mistakes Granted and this is the Problem which you are right to highlight.
However in situations where there is DNA Evidence perhaps this is just cause.
I just dont understand why people like this act this way and considering he was brought into this world by a women, he should be totally ashamed and do the decent thing.

Good point , offer him the choice, natural life in solitary in a small cell, or a suicide pill.

Seems nigh on impossible that this creep was not guilty. This guy didn't kill anyone though, so the death penalty might still be a tad extreme.

A decade of back door deliveries seems fair. They should just make sure he ends up in general population inside for justice to be served.

I feel the problem is that with a situation where public opinion is often a heated opinion there sometimes a mistake and where death could be applied, it cannot be rectified if incorrect.

However, if the Scum is DNA Proved and overall evidence is %100 accurate e.g DNA / CCTV etc then the Death Penalty is not enough IMO.

I would hope in this case the Victim has the support to recover and lead a normal (as possible) life again.
She has shown great courage and it makes me sad to see such trash affect women in this manner.

I hope she recovers.
Our thoughts are with her and her family.
Lets hope she finds the strength.

What is the the matter with society?

Better to let him out so that next time he does?

If you had/ have a daughter would you be happy if she is the one he kills to finally be put away?

(not meant to be agressive but c'mon the guy is clearly a psycho so does someone else have to loose a daughter before he's put away for good)

I dont condone what this guy did to his victim
but we have to ask why the tattoo of a disfigured woman, and why this level of abuse.

he could be disturbed.
or indeed he could have been a victim previously.

fodder for thought thats all.
