and I don't mean Petrol Teds continual battle against dodgy threads....

What is the most severe pain you've ever suffered?

For me it was having a needle pushed into the inner depths of my lung to get a culture sample. The anaesthetic failed to numb the whole area.

At first it was odd watching the doctors push the long needle in without really feeling it. Then - BOOOOM  it hit the bullseye.

My God, that hurt. Pain beyond reality.

:nono: I dislike that kind of pain. :o

I'm not sure I can compete with that, but for me I was in quite a lot of pain a few years ago when I went and had my septum pierced without anesthetic.

To say that it made my eyes water would be an understatement.

Breaking my collar bone was no picnic either.

Having crusty dressings torn off my rotting toe after an toenail op. Then the bitch of a nurse doing the other toe in the same manner :wince:

According to Doctors there are only three real types of pain - Childbirth, Kidney Infection/Stones and tooth-ache.

I have had the kidney one, and it is beyond description. A female friend, who has had three kids has also had a full blown kidney infection and describes the chilbirth as mild by comparison.

I think I'm just about to experience the most pain that I'll ever have. The missus wants a new kitchen.

I broke my Ankle at sea, and had no access to doctors, or anything. Went 4 weeks with it strapped up, limping in an imensly comical manner too and from my cabin. We had some bad weather then too. More than once i put my foot down to balance myself out of instinct. That hurt quite a bit!
Oh..I also had a root canal done in Bombay without anaethetic. The chap cut my gum open with a scalpel.. That hurt a bit as well!

1.Back pain
2.Root Canal work before the drugs kicked in
3.Having a cut on my wrist pulled open after a couple of days of healing(same sit. as AndyMac) to check for foreign bodies before re-stitching, again before the laughing gas kicked in.
4.Bladder infection, pi55ing razorblades for three weeks!

It won't compare to the pain you'll endure if you say NO.

accident with my chopper on a Chopper.

as a kid, i could never tighten the seat bolt on my Chopper bicycle, and under hard-braking the seat would loosen and tilt forwards... impaling ones b*llocks onto the carefully positioned gear lever. the pain would make your eyes water.

I've never seen one like this.

But, then again, I probably only see about .5% of the threads ever posted. Sorry.

Went to take a catch and cricket ball came down on the back of my hand and the seam ripped my fingernail out-still tender 15 years on!!

And when I fractured a couple of vertebrae in a scrum, that was no picnic either.

At least you could still post on PH. Assuming your hands weren't too grazed. And you weren't in the sin bin.

not really that painful now i think about it, but i was only twelve at the time.

i broke my finger while dryslope skiing. proper goodun it was, 90 degrees out and rapidly turning black.

I went to see the first aider, who took one look at it and set it with no warning. couldnt use my hand for weeks after that, and i couldnt get any painkillers either

Having boiling water thrown in my face scolding my eyeballs and welding my eyelids shut was quite painful. Then the doctors tried to separate my eyelids to inspect the damage but had to give up as I nearly burst their eardrums! I was full of morphine at the time as well.
