Things to do before you die!
Discussion
Some years ago I made a list of half a dozen things I wanted to do before I die. Problem is, I've done most of them now, the original list included; witness a live volcano, own a V8 sports car, climb a tall mountain, go white-water rafting, go on Concorde, and a few others. With the exception of Concorde, I've crossed all the things off the list. As such, I'm looking for inspiration from other people's lists.
1. Go into space.
Seriously - it is possible! A company in Russia will take you up onto the very edges of the earth's atmosphere so all you can see is black and stars - about £11,000 IIRC. That covers the fast jet 'wish' as well.
2. To be the first person to set foot somewhere. Ever.
Still working on this one, but it will probably involve caving - which I am not keen one. It seems like cheating if I get out of the car and have a wonder in the outback/desert somewhere!
3. To fly in a Spitfire.
Not sure any 2 seaters are actually flying and insured for passengers anymore
. Might have to settle for a mustang... ho-hum!
4. Live in the 1960s (kind of). I want to buy an 'as new' 1968 fastback mustang (8-track etc), go to an American diner. Burger, muscle car drag race and home. A bit wierd I know, but kind of cool.
5. Run a V12 Ferrari as an everyday car.
6. Have a classic ferrari as a weekend car.

I've done this in a cave in Yorkshire, breakfast at Bernies in Ingleton (is it still called Bernies ?) and then down Lancaster pot into the Lancaster system . . . can't remember how big it is now but IIRC something like 20 miles of passageways . . . did this 18 years ago, managed to avoid the cave diving lark, fancied living.
