The definition of insanity is...

Exactly what I was thinking last night whilst watching them throw things at our tanks. Either that, or show them a tank's real power...I think they need to be shown.
Christ, now we know what Saddam had to deal with it doesn't make him seem so bad!

,what a Balls up!i think we've been doing pretty well on that score. Not sure it will be like that for much longer if there is a concerted effort to do all this protesting, and attacking out soldiers, and equipment. They are between a rock and a hard place really. if they don't do anything, when these protesters attack, then they will be seen to be an easy target. On the other hand, if they get forceful, then they will get targeted as 'evil occupiers' or what have you. Good on the commander for takking action into his own hands. It was a bit odd having the soldiers taken to a house. Something a bit odd going on there.

THE DEFINITION OF INSANITY IS...
Being very smug and clever with hindsight, whilst not having displayed any foresight.
A search of the forums from a few years back will show pretty much full support for the war and much condemnation for the peacenicks, oh how things change.
Still, we didnt know then what we know now eh? which takes us back to the top...

Yea but!,a war is not about 'Public opinion',its about going into a conflict for the right reasons and with hindsight someone PLEASE tell me "what were the right reasons"??
How many lives have been wasted?,how much public money has been wasted?
We would of been better of sending the billions of $$ and ££ to Africa or even redevoloping some of our own inner cities, then we would of saved lifes.
Hope we learn from this shambles.

I, like many others, was gullible enough to believe the intelligence, as presented by our leaders - who are in charge of the intelligence services. When it was realised how catastrophically wrong it was the relevant leaders should have resigned - because the buck stops with them. Put it this way, had they have averted armegeddon, they would have happily taken the credit. As such, you can't have it both ways!

Nah that's the definition of a bored troll looking for a reaction
I was amazed to see what appeared to be a tank, defeated by a mob with petrol bombs. Surely a WW2 Panzer could have done better than that?
What restraint by the crew, though, not to simply drive straight through the mob to safety (as I would have done!), but instead to risk their own lives by bailing out and probably being beaten to death instead.
1:0 to mob rule; now they'll try it again.

Its either a military invasion and occupation or its not.
To have soldiers dressed in (police) riot gear is no good for anybody. I've had a number of discussions with my dad in the pub about this. He served in cyprus in the 50s, in Aden and in the Suez invasion as a member of the Parachute Regiment. When they were in similar circumstances (and worse) they weren't issused with batons but more ammunition. The attitude, especially in cyprus was to keep order by force. The difference was that they didn't have cameras following every sweep of their rifles.
The war in Iraq was based on a lie to cover up a motive that would appear unpalletable to our liberal press, namely that of oil. If (that idiot) Blair and (the cretin) Bush had stood shoulder to shoulder and said we need to open up oil production in the middle east and loosen OPECs grip on the world economy then I would have been fully behind the war. As it stands Bush and Blair are still trying to baffle us with bullshit. The ironic thing is that the insurgents in iraq probably have a more realistic view of the situation than our own leaders!

How do you think the term 'Molotov Cocktail' originated?
It defeated the Germans in such a humiliating way it was ludicrous.
Pint botle filled with petrol and a rag as a fuse. Cost... Well probably about fifty times what it was then but still comparatively cheap.
