From my Dad, on raising children:

"Babies are stupid. That's why they have parents."

Directed at the parents who are afraid to impose rules and consequences on children: kids don't have the good sense and judgement to survive their own uninformed choices. Duh.

Unlike many others recently, I am not going to be drawn into a slanging match with certain members who should know better but seem to thrive on taking the piss while leaving themselves wide open to all sorts of mockery.

My octogenarian mother in law on the acquisition, this week, of a new television cabinet.
