Would Aliens be Christian?
So Christianity, its origins being in what we now call Isreal is a white religion?
How can a belief have pigment?
I first thought along the lines of why any non-white (since arabs are caucasian) would want to tag along as christians. Nano seconds latter the aliens popped into my head (how strange;)). It's an old debate - but I've not seen it here yet.
So...would any alian race go for an 'earth' religion? Could they accept that jesus 'died for them'? Or is 'christianity' truly universal and they had a saviour/prophet all their own?

I would like to think that aliens would be more intellegent than us and at some point in their evolution had done away with the notions of imaginary freinds.
What if the aliens are idiots and only inherited the technology?
Or those of us that think we are clever bugger atheists are deluding ourselves.
Or super smart aliens might actually be on speaking terms with 'GOD' and have him/her/it round at the weekend?

I really hope so, otherwise what hope is there for humanity if we could venture the stars and still have these notions of imaginary friends while doing so.
Noooooooooooo

Chritianility is predicated by the coming of The Messiah to a planetary civilisation at some point in history. On Earth we are told that Jesus paid us a vistit about 2,000 years ago. That was probably just our turn. Jesus probably has spent the last 2,000 years zipping around the cosmos making his standard three earth year sojourn at each planet in need of "enlightement" and , no doubt, suffering the same consequences each time.
If I was him I'd be asking for a job swap by now.

The aliens probably are God/Jesus whatever, its probably some practical joke for their version of funniest home videos or whatever its called there, Zorgs practical jokarium or something like that I presume.
Anyway it would be a good device if they wanted to come back and take over the world though, the instant assumption that they are god would turn most into believers who wipe out the nonbelievers and then they have a slave race for a while who are afraid of them. eventually some will become disillusioned and try to resist but by then its too late. Genius.

Why are all aliens called 'Zorg'?
Is it a western european thing? 'Coz I bet any name with a 'Z' in it is common as muck in eg Poland.
Any Poles in? Would 'Dave' make a good alien name in Poland?
blame whoever came up with it in those crappy 50s alien movies and the people responsible for propagating it in parody shows like the simpsons (actually its usually Planet Zorg in the simpsons...), I think the main reason is to try and get some weird 'alien' sounding name, so it has to be something strange and unfamiliar but also pronouncable by voice actors.
