Seen a couple of these in the past they are quite good, kind of legalised joy riding with experts

Yeah this was legalised joy riding with w*nkers though. Such speed, nearly 80 mph on straight roads What a load of contrived american tripe.

Arnt their speed limits 55mph so to them its fast.

I must admit to being transfixed by this, this afternoon. I couldn't understand when using a standard three point seatbelt and no crash helmet or whiplash protection, how someone could reasonably expect to walk away completely unscathed from even a 50 mile per hour crash with a stationary car. Even when driving a Crown Victoria?! These guys seemed to crash head on in 'uncoordinated' action, with the driver of the 'target' car escaping just moments before hand.

The whole program had a staged feel to it, with the police coming out on top at the last. I think the car chases took several days to film, not several minutes.

i know what you mean, when i started watching i was like wow this is really cool, then was like hang on, they are stunt drivers, which would blatently be able to get away from the coppers.

Must confess I watched one episode as one of the competing plods was the son of Sheriff John Bunnell.

If anyone deserved a coffee beans smiley for his driving it was Bunnell Jnr.

If this is typical of US plod driving (which to be fair I suspect it isn't) be intereseting to compare bodyshop costs per 1000 miles of USA vs UK plod.

I thought it was complete tosh... saw it the first time it did the rounds, and was equally unimpressed then. Seemed to have pratts on both sides!
