Anyone watching this and seeing another crossbow machine being made by a team with an "expert" and they're fitting the leaf springs the wrong way round..............again. Just like all previous attempts.

They are being fitted with the outside curve to the front (like a bow should look) but this is not the direction they work best.

Put your money on the airgun.

Why would you want to use a short Character from a Fantasy film to make your crossbow stretchy?

I thought longbows were traditionally made of hazel? With the bow cut down the boundary between the old and the new wood, or at least the heart of the wood and the outside bit because one is better in tension and one in compression.

They're motorised release is a bit useless too, it lifts the wire up into the air on release so it'll lose a lot of the stored energy in the vibration and it comes back down.

They are scraping the bottom of the barrel with the teams in thei series.

Maybe they might accept a PH team now.

surely it matters not which way arounf you have your leaf spring ..will the elasticity not be the same in both directions?

No, if you have it the wrong way round you will only be using the natural spring power of a single leaf. The other way round you will use all leaves.

It's been mentioned on Scrapheap before in a past series.
