Going up to Edinburgh from next Friday to Monday and need to park the "commuter" (read "dog") car somewhere.

Any recommendations for cheap-ish parking for four days in the Gatwick area?

Gatwick itself is expensive to park in and the surrounding car parks are also pretty pricey (eg BCP).

I haven't tried this myself, but you could try some hotels in the area to see how much a room is - cheapest possible of course, as long as there's parking provided; even if you never use the room it might be a saving just for the car parking.

APH are usually the most reasonable.

We paid about £65 for 12 days recently.

OK, got quote of £27.95 with BCP - 15 mins from terminals by coach transport.

That seems quite reasonable doesn't it?

Try the Hilton. IIRC they do resonable parking rates and provide a shuttle bus service to the terminal.

Depends on how cheap you want to go - I leave my car outside my Grandmothers house in Horley (5 mins away) and book a cab which is about £5 each way (a while since I have done it so maybe more but local firms will give you a fixed price over the phone). Of course you may well not have a nan or indeed any other relative living there but the principle is the same as there is loads of free on street parking in the residential bits, just pick a road at random from Multimap and Roberts your mothers brother. Advantage for me is that I get to have a cuppa if I am early or the taxi is late, whereas you would be sitting in your car.

Cheap option, but maybe too cheap!!

I always use pink elephant when I fly from GW - can't remember how much it cost last time, but I know it was the cheapest option that I could find.

I have parked at a B+B next to Gatwick for 3 weeks - didnt stay there or pay for a room, but they were happy for me to park for a very reasonable fee . Ring a few to find out
