WOW!!!

What a film, it is a totally new experience like nothing I have seen before.

No one would claim it is the best movie ever, it is too clichéd and at times too cartoonish for that.

But it is riveting throughout and well acted.

It is not for everyone though; it is so violent it makes films such as Kill Bill look like Bambi in comparison.

Good fun isn't it.

The Mickey Rourke scenes were my favourite. I could watch an entire series of films based on Marv.

My favourite too, though the last scenes had Jessica Alba in them.

That was one let down of the movie, many of the women were revealing all, but Jessica Alba, that modern day Aphrodite, is a stripper who keeps her clothes on.

I took my wife to see it. Big mistake - she hated it and said it made her feel physically sick. I lost a shedload of brownie points for that, I can tell you.

On balance, I'd say that I liked it. Not the best film ever, for sure, but certainly a cut above the usual Hollywood fare and a breath of fresh air / originality in a world of sequels, remakes and play-it-safe derivitive works.

You took your wife to see it

I have quickly grown to regonise the limit my wife has for violence in films and I just say firmly 'you won't like it' if she ever wants to watch any of the films above that level.

Half way through the film last night she came back from her swimming class and said 'can I watch the rest of the film with you' , 'ermm...no'

I never thought it was that great to be honest. Goopd comic book style to it, etc, but not exactly an involving story, and I got a bit bored to be honest...

Yes, yes, I know. I said it was a mistake.

A policy that I have now also adopted.

Have to agree there, almost fell asleep at the cinema too many times.

Think the film tried to be too clever at times and while there was a hint of Tarantino, the whole thing didn't really hang together that well.

3/10

Maybe I will one day Nervous, but I have a big backlog of unread books and partially read Economists to get through first.

I've been so busy with PH's, I mean work, lately.

I loved it, didn't know what to expect, didn't see any trailers, just walked in with an open mind.

Have to agree, the Mikey Rourke story was by far the best, but found that it then made Clive Owen look like a talentless bozo in comparison (admittedly Mickey Rourke could do that to most actors )

Not perfect, not the best film I've ever seen, but I really enjoyed it.

Just watched it at the weekend and really enjoyed it.
GF did not approve, about 15min into film she turned the light on and read a magazine. Moaned at me after about how I could enjoy such a horrible film.

Err, yes. You'll be asking if there are comics based on the Spiderman, Batman, Superman, X-Men, Blade, Spawn and Fantastic Four films next.

bah!
what i meant was, the characters in the film, were they made up for the film, or are they in the comics as well?

is it the film of sin city, or just A film set in sin city, if you see what i mean
