There's another recent thread about Revolver where I expressed my immense dislike for this mess of film. Can't be bothered again, needless to say Ritchie screwed up again.
Avoid it IMO, far better stuff out at the moment. History of Violence looks excellent, and I saw Goal! at the weekend which whilst cheesey and predictable was a fun 'turn your brain off' movie (obviously better if you like football), certainly a better way to spend £6.50 than Revolver anyway.
Four Brothers did good business in the states but is getting mixed reviews here, looks nice and violent though
If you really MUST see Revolver, go in with an open mind, you might just find something in there that I didn't... Entertainment perhaps.

How does 'Revolver' compare to 'Lock, Stock...' and 'Snatch'? I heard similar shocking reviews for these two films, but found that I actually loved their style.
For some reason I've avoided cinema-attendance for the last few weeks, but have decided to watch 'Revolver' sometime this week. A friend has seen it and said that it's as complicated a film as he's ever seen...but that he wants to watch it again to try and fathom it.

Don't trust reviews for films such as these, they reflect the writers political views at times, i.e. 'dreadful movie applauding vigilantism'
If your idea of a good time is watching the scum get blown away, it probably is for you.
Loved both Lock Stock and Snatch, great style, witty and clever script, excellent performances and pretty hilarious too.
Revolver however is not funny at all, no charm, no humour (or even a noticeable attempt at it) it takes itself incredibly seriously and in it's attempts to rip off everything from the Usual suspects to Kill Bill falls flat on it's face.
It's not big or clever, it's just crap.

So true; I read a review of Some Mothers do 'av 'em in one of the Blair papers, and the reviewer gave it one star out of 5 because, 'It depicts socially unskilled people as something to laugh at'!!! Really!!!!
(probably the same type of tw@t that banned 'Piglet mugs', for fear of offending non-indiginous cultures!!
