Luxury Hotels in the UK
Discussion
Hi All,
Need some help, its my wifes 30th birthday coming up and I'd like to take her away to a nice hotel in the UK somewhere for a few days. Currently looking South West way Bath/Devon, maybe Oxfordshire.
Has anyone got any suggestions. Maybe something along the lines of this www.manoir.com ?
Cheers
Michael

Royal Crescent in Bath is superb. Stayed in the Sir Percy Blakeney Suite last time, superb views over the cresent.
Great restaurant as well.

The Manor House Hotel in Castle Coombe ticks a few boxes for a pressie like that. Fancy food, romantic setting, not far from Bath, and...
oh look, there's a race track round the corner...

It's not in your listed locations but I like St David's Hotel in Cardiff. Book through last minute and you'll get a better rate than direct and they should include the Spa entry as well.
Oooh - yes. Very fancy and cool. Loved it - plus great views.
Lovely for a bit of pampering.

It's worth seeing a gig in town if you have a few days. We have bumped into JK, Tom Jones and 50 pence there.
we stayed here

in the new forest. The web page is not that informative, but nice place. We went for the standard room, but for a 30th I would upgrade. They also have a private dining room "The Alhambra Room" which is decorated in a moorish theme and is quite unusual (can't find the pictures on the website but there used to be some). Restautant was nice

Oh and it also has Tides - the Marco Pierre White restaurant. Very tasty, but (probably) quite a few notes. And not the kind of restaurant you want to be in when sober, because it's a tad pretentious. Funnily enough.
