Front Door Locks
Discussion
Hi, one for the massive, I think,
Our double glazed front door wont lock properly (and no, I wont tell you where I live!). It is of the type where you lift the handle to engage the full locking action along the edge of the door before turning the key. I have had it to pieces, and the key lock mechanism works fine, it is the handle turning assembly which is badly worn. Looking around the major DIY chains, it is fairly easy to replace the lock barrel, but I have had no luck sourcing a replacement handle / closing mechanism. Anyone got any suggestions (other than replacing the door, which would be a bit of a waste)?

I have the same door as you, dont know when you got it, but my double glazing came with a written 10 year guarantee, if yours is still in date, go back to the supplier.
If its out of date, go back anyway, perhaps they could supply you with the correct lock.

Door was in the house when I bought it, so I have no idea how long it has been in. The MPL site looks very promising, if pricey. Still, cheaper than a new set of white and silver goods I suppose.
