David Davies, the Tory MP and the welsh assembly member for Monmouth has been reported to the assembly's standards committee.

A Plaid Cymru AM, Helen Mary Jones, accused him of "giving support and comfort to people who behave appallingly towards gipsies".

It seems that even telling the truth can get you punished these days, as long as that truth is not politically convenient.

The same reaction was forthcoming during the last election campaign when Michael Howard dared to suggest that it might be a good idea to be a bit careful about who we let in to the country. Labour and some left-wing media wheeled out a few ranting fools who claimed this was racist.
