One stat widened my jaded observation - "Overall benefit spending runs at £109bn a year."

£109,000,000,000.00!

Then, see this

...and despair.

"£37,500 a year in benefits"

The only way the Tories will be able to cut taxes is if they cut drastically the £109bn bill for welfare.

"The money was earned from a topless photo shoot in a newspaper,"

Shudder.....

8 children, £37k per year in benefits, what a great advert for a screwed up system.

I'd be surprised if this ever got fixed, how many votes would Labour lose if they were to withdraw their bribery, sorry, spurious benefits ?

The money was earned from a topless photo shoot in a newspaper, celebrity magazine interviews and money for appearing on Wife Swap.

She will now have to pay back the £4,879 benefits overpayment, which will be taken from her current benefits.

Apart from the fact that is the most disgusting mental image ever, what is the point of reclaiming it from her existing benefits at (presumerably) a fiver a week?

I love the way she expected to get off because she gave the money to charity

I suppose when her 8 kids grow up they will each be claiming tens of thousands of pounds in benefits each year, while at the same time, my 2 kids will be supporting them. Reverse Darwinism at its finest.

£109bn

Obviously they dont have enough cash to run their operation properly.

Its taken them 3 months to send a letter FFS.

We watched a programme the other night about having babies and there was a girl of 15 who got pregnant with twins and she naturally didn't work. Her father made a nice gesture and had the twins names tatooed onto each arm.

The girl rented her own house a few doors along from her parents which was useful for baby sitting and meant she could still go out and get p1ssed with her mates at weekends.

Anyway, it made me mad

Myself and Mrs Kentish both have good jobs, a nice house but with a big mortgage and we are carefully considering whether or not we can actually afford to have any children.

Wife Swap last night.

Couple, 5 kids.

Actually elected not to work because the benefits system allowed them to lead a fairly comfortable existence.

Anyone that watched "wife swap" last night will have seen a perfect example of the lazy, good for nothing scum that expect everything to be paid for them. "It's not that I don't want to work ..." - yes it is you pikey waste of space. Now go and do us all a favor and kill yourself.

Judge not lest ye be judged.

We are all so good here at pontificating on the morals of everyone else.

Why can't we talk more about really important things, like cars and 'planes?

I saw the end of that - just the last 15 mins made me mad!

I gather the 'wife' gave the older girl a bedroom of her own - at the end they decided she couldn't have her own bedroom but instead gave her her own bed! Was she sharing a bed??? How can this go on when the dad has enough money for x-box games, beer, gambling and fags??? Not even spending the handouts on his family!

Fecking hell Matt, I wish you hadn't mentioned that ....it really p!sses me off.

And I guess they got a fat cheque for a TV appearance too!

I really wonder if it is worth working and paying for all the lazy good for nothing little slappers and their packs of sprogs!

People can have whatever morals they want so long as I am not paying for them!

Given that the British state spends £109bn supporting them I would consider it quite an important issue.

The mother-of-eight, who said the cash went to charity and family, was found guilty by Rochdale magistrates.......

He said Bardsley continues to maintain she did not keep any of the cash for her own financial gain but gave it away.

More than anything - this annoys me - she could not afford to give away the money because she doesn't earn any herself - but felt there was nothing wrong in giving to "charity"?

Look luv you aren't wealthy enough to give to charity. Stop sponging off the state, earn a proper living, and give the proceeds of your own wealth to charity.

and whilst I'm ranting - people who get a criminal charge of benefit fraud should be deprived of any further benefits for the rest of your life. the benefits system should be treated with the respect.
